Chapter Officers

 

The Rochester Chapter has elections of its officers every year.  The role of Vice President (President Elect) serves their initial term as Vice President and then is expected to become the President for the next term.  Any ABWA Rochester Charter Chapter member in good standing may vote in the June elections.  The newly elected officers start their terms in August of that same year.  The Officers meet every month and those dates are determined by each President.

Standing Committee Descriptions and Committee Chairs

Hospitality

Responsible for the venue location, food menu, special arrangements and reservation of Chapter meetings and special events.  They will prepare the monthly meeting invitation and send to all members and potential guests via email.  They will communicate all details to Newsletter for publication.  They will work with the Treasurer to assure that all reservations are paid with Program committee for the Awards Banquet.  Chair: Micki Spors

Education

The primary function of this committee is to serve between the Chapter and the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund (ABWA’s educational fund), educating Chapter members with regard to find purpose and opportunities.  Chair: Lilly Londer

Membership

The primary function of this committee is to collaborate with the Vice President in maintaining the strength and vitality of the Chapter by organizing and implementing two membership recruitment campaigns (fall and spring) that will attract new members and /or reactivate former ABWA members.  Chair: Tonya Burns

Professional Development

Responsible for delivering business and market relevant programming at each monthly Chapter meeting.  They will determine topics that best meet the needs of the members within the budgetary guidelines defined by the Executive Board.  Chair: Roxanne Hellickson

Publicity/Newsletter

This committee will develop a plan that increases the visiblity of the Chapter’s notable initiatives and Chapter/member accomplishments within the community by writing and sending promotional information to appropriate web, social and media outlets and by providing pictures for Newsletter.    Chairs: Valerie McCarty and Lisa Munn

Fundraising

The members of this committee are responsible for identifying and recommending opportunities that generate capital.  Once annual projects are approved, the committee shall act to create and implement their revenue generating plan.  The committee shall be responsible for monitoring and providing status reports to the Executive Board.
