The Rochester Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) was formed in Rochester, Minnesota in 1957.

ABWA Mission Statement –  The mission of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provice opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.

Our Monthly Chapter Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month (except July and December).

Social/Networking at 5:30 pm.

Most of our meetings cost $25 per person.  The cost is occasionally higher based on special circumstances.  (For example, the Woman of the Year Banquet).

We ask for a RSVP through our Sign up Genius link if you are going to attend a meeting.

We accept cash, check or Venmo at the registration desk.

Because we have to give a count to the caterer, if you RSVP yes to attend and are not able to make it, we still require you to pay the $25 fee.

Our meetings include a delicious dinner, interesting speakers (including special times for non-profits and members), board and commitee updates, and member spotlight tables.

Speaker information for each meeting is posted on our Facebook page approximately 2 weeks before the meeting.

How much to join?

National dues are $125, and local dues are $50.  Both are required to become a member.  Upon joining dues can be renewed annually online at the ABWA home page.

Our Chapter's Community Outreach

  • In September, we hold a Golf Event to raise money for scholarships and our education opportunities.  This event has been going on for over 25 years.  We currently support scholarships at RCTC, ALC and the Jeremiah Program.
  • In November, we donate and decorate a tree for the Hiawatha Homes Festival of Trees.
  • In November and December, we work at Hunt Drug to help them with their Christmas Gift Wrapping.
  • Throughout the year, we seek donations to local non-profits who are asking for help.  We have served dinner, gathered presents and donated money and goods to organizations such as the Women’s Shelter, Family Promise, NAMI, Adopt a Family and the Hope Lodge, to name a few.
